Op 28 April bied Beeld in samewerking met Nederburg en Richard van der Westhuizen ’n heerlike “Fynproewers” geleentheid aan by die Barnyard Menlyn. The talented and well known songwriter and singer, Piet van Wyk de Vries recently signed a licensing and distribution deal with Storm Rekordz for the release of his new album “Die geheime wêreld van ..... Piet van Wyk de Vries”. This will be his first CD release in two years and the first commercial release since the success of “Die son die maan die sterre” more than five years ago. From that album the song MadeleinMadelein was a major hit. Hundreds of Piet van Wyk de Vries’s recordings, arrangements and songs has been sung by well known and upcoming artists and some of his songs appear on almost every singel collection of Afrikaans Cd’s in the world. Piet is also well known for the fact that he writes most of Mathys Roets’s songs. The CD will have 19 songs of which some of his biggest hits will appear as well as brand new songs.
