The Chaplin twins (Andrew & Brian) are back in 2013 with a brand new sound, a new logo, a smash hit called 'Closer' and a brand new album called ‘Faster Longer Mixtape’. Commenting on the new album LCNVL say: “The Faster, Longer Mixtape is basically a chance for us to mix up some songs we've been listening to into some of our stuff, as well as new original tracks by us. This is basically a showcase of our new sound and to give a taster as to what's coming.” LCNVL (Locnville) have been South Africa's most successful pop act of the past 5 years selling over 100 000 physical albums; winning the SAMAs for Best Selling Album and Best Newcomer; touring the world playing alongside the likes of Taio Cruz, Mike Poser and Jason Derulo; and having their music featured on TV ads by huge brands like MTN, Playstation, Supersport and featuring on EA's top selling FIFA game. When asked about the new album, Brian Chaplin says: “It's been quite a while since we've released new material onto the scene, and we had a fantastic and much needed break in the process. 2013 has marked a new point in life for me personally and creatively, and given me a new take on things and a fresh perspective, and has allowed Drew and I to come back with a vengeance. We spent some time in New York at the end of 2012 and recorded 16 tracks in a week. It's a new and fresh sound from LCNVL that reflects some of our personal music tastes and a lot of Trap influence which has become my new favorite sound. You can expect a road trip album that you can just press play and listen to.” Andrew Chaplin added: “I've recently got a whole new lease on life, we took a much needed break over the past year and a half which is the best decision I think we could've made. With that, 2013 is definitely a year that I feel holds big things! We went up to New York a few months back to lay down about 16 new tracks in anticipation of a new release, but of course we just kept writing more and more stuff, so we really have an arsenal of tracks to pick and choose from, which is something we haven't really done before. Then came along 'Closer' which is now our newest single, and that track came about so quickly, it's one of those tracks that just comes together at the right time, all of our new stuff is organic and off the cuff, it's fresh. We did a lot of improvising on the new tracks which really comes through in the audio. You'll hear it!”
