Indie Folk band ‘The Motherland’ release debut album. Jo burg based local band ‘The Motherland’ are set to release their latest album ‘Three sheets to the wind’ at the Barnyard Theatre Rivonia this April. Between gigging and charity work during a busy 2014 the band have been working hard with Jaque Du Plessis and Adrian Erasmus of the highly acclaimed ‘High Seas’ studios, compiling their debut album, which takes us away from their heavily rooted south African folk sound and into a multifaceted direction. The band describes their latest album as ‘deeply diverse, melodic and intricate.’ “The support we’ve had from our fans and some industry heavy weights has been immeasurable, we’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from our surroundings, we are excited to see the response to our new music, a lot of thought and love went into creating this album’ Armed with a fresher sound, The Motherland will be debuting their album on the 2nd of April at the Barnyard theatre in Rivonia, where they will also host a meet and greet and album signings.
