THE MAYDAY CONCERT
Lonehill Estate, The Anti Retro Vinyls , Made in Wrong Kong, The Ice Project & Rob May Band
LONEHILL ESTATE is one of the top live performing bands in South Africa. Tired of watching spectators bob their heads to dull rock music, the band set out to bring dancing back into the genre. With singles like ‘DAANS’, ‘Gangstar’, and ‘Techno Band’ charting across major SA radio stations, Lonehill Estate will be sure to entertain you right out of your seats. THE ANTI RETRO VINYLS are a 3 piece reincarnation of the British rock and punk bands from the 70’s and 80’s. The Anti Retro Vinyls are Greg Allan, Tate Sutton and Sarel Reynolds and currently reside in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their sound as well as their image is that of the original anti-establishment acts from Britain, alongside modern influences and features to deliver a performance that promises infectious, high-energy music alongside tight jeans and big hair. MADE IN WRONG KONG - Danny de Wet (eVoid, Petit Cheval & Wonderboom) has a crazy new band that features Tina Delacovias (Squeal, Shuttermouth & Cherries For Cannibals), Quinton Lotter, Daniel Kwak and Vaughn Haylock. ICE PROJECT - Formed by Cobus Bester, this band has been a group of song crafters (Heinrich Pelser, Theunis de Bruyn & Louis Potgieter) that has earned the adjective ‘prolific ‘ since releasing “Boy In The Photo” with the award winning production team of Theo Crous and Neal Snyman (The Parlotones, Chris Chameleon, Prime Circle etc) at the helm. The band has honed their live show over the last 2 years in front of thousands of other South African music fans, as an opening act for their former label mates, The Parlotones and shared the stage with many great South African acts - Crash car Burn, Locnville, and many others. ROB MAY is a Singer/Songwriter from Johannesburg. After a year of performing as a solo act, he decided to incorporate some indie rock and African styles in his sound, and put together a live band. His two singles “Welcome Bachelor” and “Sunday Funday” are currently circulating numerous radio stations across the country, and the new 6 track EP is nearing completion”
