HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME – FAMILY BUDGET SHOW
A Family Budget show of Hollywood Walk of Fame
What better way for The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway to ease into the year-end than by paying tribute to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood? Their festive season production, Hollywood Walk Of Fame, features the greatest music from the greatest movies and runs at the popular mall venue from 11 October through to 31 December. A Family Budget show of Hollywood Walk Of Fame will be staged on Saturday, 22 October, at 13h30. With this matinee performance, tickets at just R80 and a kid-friendly shortened version of the show, you can't find a better way to entertain the family on a budget, or an easier option for kids' parties. The Hollywood Walk of Fame comprises more than 2,500 five-pointed brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Now, The Barnyard Theatre presents a tribute to the unforgettable songs that have become as iconic as the films that they were composed for, and whose stars became showbiz stalwarts, with their names etched into our memories and into this famous Hollywood Walk Of Fame forever. Hollywood Walk of Fame is a dazzling roller-coaster ride that starts with a trip to the dance movies of the seventies and eighties. These movies will inspire you to dance and put on your boogie shoes when we encounter John Travolta in the seventies classic Saturday Night Fever, with dance anthems like Saturday Night Fever, Jive Talkin’ and You Should Be Dancing. The seventies were also responsible for the all-time classic Grease. Who could ever forget You’re The One That I Want, Greased Lightnin’ and Born To Hand Jive? Movies from the eighties produced some of the greatest theme songs and soundtracks ever when we think back to the movies Flashdance, Footloose, Fame, Dirty Dancing, Purple Rain and Top Gun, all featured in the show. The show also features some of the greatest ballads in movie music history. These include I Do It For You by Bryan Adams from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves; I Believe I Can Fly by R Kelly from Space Jam; and the ultimate movie ballad, My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion from Titanic. Also showcased is music from 90’s movie greats, such as Pulp Fiction, The Full Monty and The Men in Black; along with the theme from Dangerous Minds, Gangsta’s Paradise. Movie themes that get rocked up in this show include Space Odyssey, Peter Gunn, Phantom Of The Opera, Star Wars and Mission Impossible. The show’s Cult Movie segment also pays homage to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, while movie features from the 21st century include Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby. The Hollywood Walk of Fame features a 10-piece cast of singers, dancers and musicians who will entertain you with some catchy tunes, sweet moves, and songs that have become the soundtrack of our lives. Whether you’re a professional dancer or the owner of two left feet, Hollywood Walk of Fame will get you moving!!
