1 Hit Wonders is a tribute to recording artists who only had one hit song - and then disappeared into obscurity – never to be heard of again –till now - in this awesome Barnyard Theatre Production. Since the birth of rock and roll, we have experienced 1 Hit wonders on the pop charts - such as guitar legend Carl Perkins – Blue Suede Shoes. In the 1970s we experienced some outrageous dance floor one hit wonders if we think back to songs like Knock On Wood, Play That Funky Music, Funky Town, Freak Out and Kung Fu Fighting to name but a few. There were also had some beautiful ballads racing up the charts, if you remember songs like All By Myself by Eric Carmen and Without You by Harry Nilsson. In the 1980s we experienced a new sound of one hit wonders with songs such as 99 Red Balloons, I Just Died In Your Arms, You Spin Me Round (Like a Record), Take My Breath Away, Don’t Worry Be Happy and many more. These bands had some outrageous names such as Dead or Alive, A-ha and Cutting Crew. In the 1990s we had some crazy one hit wonders with songs such as The One And Only by Chesney Hawkes, Save Tonight by Eagle -Eye Cherry, Walking In Memphis by Marc Cohn, and let’s not forget the ultimate one hit wonder - Black Velvet by Alannah Myles. The show also plays tribute to the catchiest one hit wonders ever such as Who Let The Dogs Out, Macarena, Gangnam Style, The Ketchup Song, Ice Ice Baby, Mambo No. 5 and the all - time greatest saxophone one hit wonder – Baker Street. 1 Hit Wonders features a talented 10 – piece cast who will perform more than sixty songs, that you will remember as songs that not only were one hit wonders, but songs that you partied to and danced till you dropped. 1 Hit Wonders is an ultimate party show – so get ready to boogie on down, sing along and rock your blues away.
