THE BOSS SESSIONS
The Boss’ To Rule The Barnyard
Durban based icons, The Black Lapels, are heading back to The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway to perform their brand-new tribute to Bruce Springsteen, The Boss Sessions, on Monday and Tuesday, 14 and 15 November. After sell-out tributes to Johnny Cash last year and Creedence Clearwater Revival at the venue earlier this year, The Black Lapels are returning to show local audience who’s The Boss! Armed with gifted skill sets in the form of Rob and Garth Warren, Gareth Gale, Luke Wyngaard, David Langley, and the introducing guitarist and vocalist Gary Nixon, The Boss Sessions will work its magic transporting audiences through a retrospective catalogue of poetic lyrics, Americana and a blistering selection of commercially accessible working-class rock. Starting with Springsteen and the E Street Band’s break-through album Born To Run, The Black Lapels build an unforgettable performance over two 40-minute sets that traverses through a landscape of true Springsteen classics. This is an interesting journey when one considers that it covers a catalogue that boasts 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Oscar. So slide into your iconic white rolled-up short sleeve t-shirt, trusted blue denim jeans, stash that bandana in the back pocket and join the guys for an evening that was born to rock! The theatre will open at 18h30, and the shows will start at 20h00. Tickets are R150 per person, and seating will be as for normal shows, with no standing room. For bookings and enquiries, phone The Barnyard Theatre on 031 – 566 3045 or visit www.barnyard.durban.
