ALTERNATIVE 80'S LIVE - PETIT CHEVAL REUNION
PETIT CHEVAL REUNION
On a night boasting live band performances of 'Lotsa Classic Alt Eighties Songs' by the likes of The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Police etc, all played live by kickass tribute rockers, The DeadBeats, something many fans never believed would occur... Is happening!

AFTER 37 YEARS, ICONIC 80'S BAND, PETIT CHEVAL ARE REUNITING FOR ONE SPECIAL GUEST SET!

Ruling the charts during South Africa’s best era of original music, with hits like, ‘Once In A Lifetime’, ‘Magical Touch’ and‘ It Was The Wind’ Petit Cheval were at the forefront, riding that glorious 80's wave, alongside other legendary acts of the day. In the 'TWICE IN A LIFETIME special guest performance set', three of the original members re-unite, to once again, create the 'magical touch', that made Petit Cheval so special

GUITARIST: CRAIG ELSE is jetting in direct from Los Angeles to join DRUMMER: DANNY DE WET and KEYBOARD PLAYER: SHELDON THOMAS for this special, milestone event. Paying vocal tribute to the wonderful songs that Jon Selby wrote, are two stellar Rock Singers in DAVE BERETTA OWENS (Lithium) and JAY WILTON (The Cavalier).

In the years since PETIT CHEVAL last performed live: DANNY has had an impressive career, also laying down the beat for eVOID, Wonderboom and The Electric Petals. In the 90’s he co-owned Wings Beat Bar, the famous Jozi venue and in 2022 he won the Yvonne Chaka Chaka ‘BVSM Pop/Rock’ award.

Danny’s book ‘Sex, Drums & Rock ‘n Roll... in Africa!’ is selling up a storm and, though he hasn’t played drums for over a decade, fans can look forward to seeing him work his magic behind the drum kit (one last time) at this show. CRAIG currently runs a studio in LA and, through his work in television, boasts two ‘Emmy’s’ and three ‘Golden Mic’ awards.

He also enjoyed stints as a member of Tribe After Tribe as well as the Bay City Rollers and he has just released an album with Duncan Faure (Rabbitt).

SHELDON toured extensively with PJ Powers and Hotline before he moved to London, in 1989, and became involved in movie sound tracks. Since returning to Cape Town, Sheldon has revisited his classical roots, composing and arranging orchestral scores.

To this day fans recall what a great live act, PETIT CHEVAL was... all those decades ago - the description on Benjy Mudie’s Retro Fresh website says it all:

‘Born of a time in South Africa when originality was the exception, PETIT CHEVAL punched a hole in the sky with music that defied conformity and the quiet norm’.

DON’T MISS THIS ‘ONCE OFF’ SHOW... IT HAS TAKEN 37 YEARS FOR THESE AMAZING MUSICIANS TO, ONCE AGAIN, JOIN HANDS ON A STAGE AND CELEBRATE THE 'PETIT CHEVAL MAGIC' THAT FANS HAVE MISSED SO MUCH... AND FOR SO LONG.
