Forever Young is the show that is dedicated to those icons and singers who remain etched in our memory because of their incredible music and song. The show features an 11-piece cast and will take you on a musical journey through the music of the late great legends of our time. Forever Young begins when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper had a fatal aviation accident after performing at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. These 3 icons created a culture in popular music; they will always be referred to as Forever Young. The show honours these and other great performers and musicians who made their mark in rock ‘n roll history. Forever Young remembers everyone from the king of rock ‘n roll - Elvis Presley to the King of pop – Michael Jackson to the soulful Louis Armstrong, Barry White and Ray Charles, as well as the rock casualties from the sixties such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Eddie Cochran. The members of The Rat Pack are also remembered when we think of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and then there is the seductive Marilyn Monroe. Let’s not forget the likes of Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline and Nina Simone and the brothers Robin, Maurice and Andy Gibb. More recent iconic singers who left their mark on our world are also featured such as John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston, Michael Hutchence, Donna Summers and Bob Marley. Our own South African icons are also paid tribute to including Brenda Fassie, Margaret Singana and Miriam Makeba. Rocking guitar legends are also remembered such as Gary Moore, George Harrison and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Forever Young will have you enjoying a wide range of music from pop, rock, soul, disco and reggae to our very own South African music.
