AMADEUS ROCKS! – FAMILY BUDGET SHOW
A Family Budget show of Amadeus Rocks
The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway presents something different as Amadeus Rocks! sees rock and classical collide when it takes to the stage from 30 August to 9 October. A Family Budget show of Amadeus Rocks! will be staged on Saturday, 24 September, at 13h30. With this matinee performance, tickets at just R70 and a kid-friendly shortened version of the show, you can't find a better way to entertain the family on a budget, or an easier option for kids' parties. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart comes back to life as a sexy, romantic composer who has finally been given the chance to rock and roll. Amadeus Rocks! features nine musicians and singers who are all superb at their craft as they run through more than 30 songs. From the opening chords of Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, until the closing bars of Bob Seger’s Old Time Rock And Roll, Amadeus Rocks takes the audience on a journey through four decades of rock and soul, with a few classical hits to spice up the show. Throughout this two-hour musical extravaganza, the audience has a superb showcase of music where Bach meets Pink Floyd, and Amadeus rocks to the music of Stevie Wonder, Meat Loaf, Pink Floyd, Vanessa Mae, Kelly Clarkson, Shania Twain, Christina Aguilera, The Moody Blues and many more! What will Amadeus make of these classics of the rock and soul genre? His famous Rondo Alla Turca running into Bryan Adams’ All For Love… well, why not? And that sets the scene for Amadeus conducting the The Can-Can, and joining the band in the Electric Light Orchestra classic, Rock ’n Roll Is King. The result is great variety and incredible fidelity to the originals, as well as a consistently high standard of musicality, both instrumental and vocal. From the moment the lights go down, Amadeus Rocks! delights its audience with a good variety of music! This is the show that everybody has been waiting for, and once again audience participation is the rule and everybody is encouraged to join in as Amadeus counts down the hits. Value-for-money entertainment doesn’t come much better than this!
