WAY TO GO BOB
Dylan 75th Birthday Concert
Bob Dylan is turning 75 on Tuesday 24 May 2016 and MIX 93.8 FM with Danny de Wet (eVoid/Petit Cheval/Wonderboom/ Hey Now, HEY NOW NOW) are hosting a concert to celebrate the event … Danny says he can prove that he’s the biggest Dylan fan in the country because he had a nose job to have his nose made BIGGER! All the performers will play their favourite Bob Dylan songs along with their own hit tunes. Top of the bill are JASPER DAN, the band that won the winners of the Barnyard /Music Mate “Road To Splashy Fen” competition and, having done us all proud at the festival, has gone onto greater heights - their fans can proudly catch them sharing a stage with Iron Maiden on the 21st May 2016. DIRTY MOONSHINE and MADE IN WRONG, two kick-ass acts with fast growing fan bases, will also be strutting their stuff on a night that will see the introduction of Gauteng’s latest rock ‘n roll sensation … a jaw-dropping schoolboy band called OH! CALAMITY – kids that play with skill and flair that belies their tender ages. Their parents were Bob Dylan fans , so they grew up listening to the greatest songwriter ever …WHETHER THEY LIKED IT OR NOT!. Other special guests include: - Deo Phoenix, Mark Kenyon and Darren Drawbridge from SEVEN SIDE STORY, singing “Damsel” (a Dylan song made famous by 80’s SA Band TRIBE AFTER TRIBE) - The Mighty Quinn & Clay Tin singing “Mr Tambourine Man” - Joe Berg & Danny de Wet singing “Echo Star” ( a song about Bob’s first girlfriend written by SA legend Jonathan Handley of THE RADIO RATS) - Eddie Carvalho singing “Don’t Think It’s Alright”
