DUNCAN FAURE
DUNCAN FAURE RETURNS TO SOUTH AFRICA FOR AN EXCLUSIVE ONCE OFF TOUR!
He’s coming home! Who remembers “Charlie”? Yes, Rock Legend and locally born musician Duncan Faure will be back in South Africa in March! Most will remember Duncan from the 1975 South African band, Rabbitt, and Scottish super group, Bay City Rollers. His local live performances will showcase both new material wowing audiences with his unique sound and style, and a set of Rollers/Rabbit classics sure to please the crowd. (Inducted in the Rock Godz Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2014). Duncan’s career has spanned over four decades. After Rabbitt disbanded and when the Rollers popularity began to wane, he went on to form KARU, a trio with fellow Roller Stuart Wood, bringing us another chart topping song: "Where is the Music". In 1988, he contributed to Madonna's "Who's That Girl?" soundtrack with his single "24 Hours". Although this song departed from his usual style, Duncan showed his versatility, and it paid off big time. The album sold 5 million copies. In the 90s, Duncan composed a song, which was to be later dubbed by many as, "A Peace Anthem". The song was, "Let It Be Right". A forceful CD titled "Come & Get It" was released in 1993, and "Let it Be Right" was included along with another South African chart topping single "There's a New Today" which reached #2 in the South African Charts. But "Let it Be Right" was viewed as such a timely and profound piece of work in South Africa, that it was performed by George Benson at the 1993 Miss World Pageant and sung by a mass choir of 500 primary school aged children in the 1994 RAG Song For Peace Choir Festival. His career continued in with the recording of “Pronounced Four-uh”, a cd filled with classic ‘power-pop’ that remains a favourite among Faure fans. This was followed in 2001 by Duncan being embraced by recording giant EMI South Africa and a 14 track cd of original music “Take The Good” was produced which included the notable tracks "Turn Me Back On The Radio" and the romantic ballad "Not Enough Hours" Sounds for all ears, tastes, and interests’ best describe the music of Duncan Faure. Recordings by the South African born songwriter/musician have been a staple in the collection of many a rock music enthusiast since the mid-seventies. Over the years, Duncan Faure has been sure to leave his legacy. It's a legacy of music; and a hope for peace and dignity for all. Through all the changes he's endured, he continues to deliver a solid sound, and refuses to compromise the integrity of his music.
